Tony Ridley is a career security professional with nearly 30 years experience in the government and commercial sector as a security, risk and terrorism advisor. He advises travel and tourism forums, corporate mobility managers and international security managers. Tony oversees commercial intelligence monitoring of terrorism-related threats whilst providing consulting and operational support to commercial and government clients. Additionally, he has advised commercial clients in the design, management and application of security operations at public events and activities, such as the Olympics, VIP events and Embassies within terrorist operational areas and targeting. Notably, Tony has advised the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member states on key tourism and terrorism-related issues along with corrective strategies.
With hands-on experience during major international terrorist events such as Mumbai, Jakarta, Pakistan, the Philippines and many more, Tony continues to be a valuable asset to corporates and governments. He is also a Security Expert Witness and Subject Matter Expert for a pending, multi-billion dollar international legal claim. A Certified Anti Terrorism Specialist (CATS) with the respected the United States based Anti Terrorism Advisory Board (ATAB) and a regular contributor to international safety, security and terrorism-related forums. Tony has commercial security operations and advisory experience across the Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East regions. He is a former government counterinsurgency and terrorism commander within the SAS. Tony is also a member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC). He is currently undertaking a Masters in Security and Risk Management with Leicester University in the UK.
